He tells the story of how the students try to convince their teacher to do a better book trailer than the one they found on YouTube because “lately, the assignments have been kind of boring.”
The YouTube vide was titled, “Number the Stars.” He then showed the students’ new and improved version of what they saw on YouTube.
The discussion of the music and changes in tempo of the music in association with the text and the pictures led to best discussion she’s ever heard in all her years of teaching the book. He tells of how kids shared the movie with their friends at lunch (unlike a book report) and, suddenly, teacher had kids NOT IN HER CLASS asking her for a book to read.
