Once again, it is my favorite cruelest month: National Poetry Month. For the month of April, we poetry lovers celebrate all things poetic. Once again, I will be attempting to produce a poem a day over at my poetry blog: http://andreazellner.tumblr.com.
Additionally, a few of us over on the twitters have pledged to participate as a community. We are using the hashtag #poemaday. I’d love it if you posted your poems, drafts, intentions and tweeted out what you can. Tag all blog posts and tweets with #poemaday so we can find and support you.
My friend Bud has pledged to post prompts every day over at his blog: http://budtheteacher.com.
Also, here is the information from the American Academy of Poets for National Poetry Month: http://www.poets.org/page.php/prmID/41
Anything else I should add? Leave suggestions, ideas, or pledges to participate in the comments. See you in April!
POST EDIT: More resources
- Found Poetry has a prompt every day on its Twitter account.
I pledge to do it! Hoooooo boy…
Hooray!
I’m in too. It sounds like fun. And at first glance I thought, “this should be a lot easier than NaNoWriMo!”
Until I looked back at other poems I’ve written and remembered my process.
But whatever. I bleed (digital) ink. I’m totally up for the challenge.
Yay! I feel the same way: a lot harder for me to do this than NaNoWriMo was. Have you seen my tumblr with the poems from last year and the year before? Ugh. I wouldn’t bother reading them. I took one down yesterday because I didn’t want it in the light of day anymore. I just remind myself: it is the process, not the product. It’s just one way to celebrate poetry, right? 🙂
I’m on board for this poem a say challenge.
Welcome! I look forward to it 🙂
