As I was reading Native Son: Fear this week, I was reflecting on the intense and often violent imagery employed by Richard Wright throughout this section of the novel. Prior to reading Book One, I created a digital story exploring images and ideas about Fear and I asked you to find your own images to illustrate the ideas presented in all three of the books in Native Son: Fear, Flight and Fate.
As we continue to explore Wright’s usage of imagery, please respond to the following invitation:
After having read Fear, find/create an image that embodies Fear for Bigger Thomas. Pair your image with a quote from Book One of Native Son. Briefly explain why you chose that particular quote to represent the idea of fear.
Please have your image, quote and explanation ready for Tuesday’s discussion. In addition, check outĀ theĀ images your classmates gathered to represent Fear, Flight and Fate.
